Sublation explores a subject consumed by her own decay. Imprisoned within her mind and body, she becomes a living grave for the darker emotions she cannot escape. What begins internally gradually manifests outward, blurring the line between what she feels and what others can see.
The styling draws from the fear that our darkest thoughts might be more visible than we realize. Nude and sheer pieces leave the subject exposed, reflecting a sense of vulnerability and psychological transparency. Overgrown hair and dirt-caked nails suggest a withdrawal from the outside world, her internal state begins to manifest physically.
The set design draws inspiration from how some of nature’s most toxic plants thrive in darkness. Hidden from the outside world, the subject’s toxicity is given space to grow. The environment becomes both a refuge and a reflection of her internal state—familiar and comforting, yet ultimately destructive.
